Bidding at Auction

It's Fun!

If you can physically attend an auction:

  1. The first thing you want to do is PREVIEW the items, that means touching and feeling the items and looking for damage, once you preview you have become an informed bidder!
  2. Now you need to register at the office, all you need is a drivers license or some form of identification and a bid number will be issued to you.  The first auction you attend we will assign a "Temporary bid number"  the second time you come ask for a permanent number and that will put you into our data base and you will receive notices of upcoming Auctions.
  3. You may also telephone 1-800-MsAuction or 831-476-1713 or E-Mail any questions, requests for pictures or all bids you would like to place.
  4. Let us know if you would like to be telephoned when the items you are interested in are on the auction block so that you can bid yourself over the phone.
TERMS: We have a 15% (oops! 19%) BUYER’S PREMIUM that is added to the HAMMER PRICE.
There is a 4% discount for people using cash or approve checks (there, it’s back to 15%).
Payments: PLEASE PAY IN FULL (OR 10% WITH APPROVAL) BEFORE YOU LEAVE AN AUCTION!
Folks writing checks over $100.00 without a major credit card must replace the check the following day with cash, at which time they may pick up their merchandise.
Form of Payment: Cash, Check, ATM, all Credit Cards and PayPal (the last two is where the 19% comes in)
AUTOMOBILES: Must be paid for in CASH within two business days of auction!
PICK-UP TIMES:

Please provide your own boxes.
You MUST have an employee help you check out at ANY time. 
We  will attempt to make every effort to check you out during the auction and remain open after the auction until everyone has completed their packing and removal of merchandise.

Next Day Pick Up:
The office hours for a Thursday Night Auction are:
Friday: 12:00 noon until 5:00 P.M. (call first if coming later)
Saturday: We recommend you call first!
Monday: 12:00 to 5:00 P.M. ($5 per item  storage each day after Monday)
   
We are NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ITEMS LEFT AFTER Monday
STORAGE FEE OF $5.00 per day per item will be charged due to space not cleared
   
“AS IS WHERE IS” We make every effort to alert you to damage during the auction.  It is your responsibility to check the items out during preview times.  If we guarantee an appliance that you cannot check at preview, you may receive your money back IF you notify us within 48 hours from the date of auction purchase and return within 5 days.
SILENT AUCTION: Final written bids will be at 7:30 (out under the tent) and 8:00 in the Silent Auction Room (we take a short break for you to enter your final bids) and then the Silent Auction is Closed. Give the clerks 60-90 minutes to enter the results into the computer. Day time Holiday Sales the Silent Auction closes at !:30 and 2:00.
SEALED BIDS: If you cannot attend an auction, simply leave a sealed bid for particular items. The auctioneer or clerk will bid for you. OR request to be telephoned when the item comes on the auction block
HAULING: Brian Hove does all our hauling and he is available to all of you!  His phone number is 761-0716.  He has a small truck, a big truck, and a car ramp. He’s nice, he’s experienced at moving furniture, and his rates are reasonable!
